How long does it take to get from the Dale Mabry campus to Padgett?

About 15 minutes. Of the colleges around Tampa, this campus is one of the closest to the clinic. The quickest drive leaves West Tampa Bay Boulevard for Air Cargo Road and Hillsborough Avenue, then takes the Veterans Expressway north to exit 7 at Linebaugh Avenue: about 8 miles, roughly 14 minutes without traffic.

To avoid tolls, go north on Dale Mabry Highway and cut over to Linebaugh Avenue by way of Sligh Avenue and Anderson Road, a similar distance and time. Dale Mabry is busy near Raymond James Stadium at rush hour and on event days, so the expressway route is often the calmer choice then.

Can you take a HART bus from HCC to the clinic?

Only part of the way. HART's Route 36 serves the HCC Dale Mabry Campus and runs up Dale Mabry Highway toward Carrollwood, but the clinic is about three miles west of Dale Mabry on Linebaugh Avenue. Check HART's trip planner before relying on the bus, or plan a rideshare for the last stretch.

How do you fit an ADHD evaluation around work and classes?

Pick a day with a gap. If you're balancing a job, family and a full or part-time course load, remember that the new patient visit takes 30 minutes plus the short drive. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and until 7 PM on Wednesdays, so an evening slot can work after a day shift.

Hillsborough College also offers flexible start classes, which begin on different dates throughout the semester. If your classes start later in the term, the weeks before they begin are a good window for your first visit. What if you take classes at another Hillsborough College campus?

The first visit is still in Tampa, and follow-ups can move to telehealth. Hillsborough College also has campuses in Brandon, Plant City, SouthShore and Ybor City, plus a MacDill center, and several of those are a much longer drive to Linebaugh Avenue than Dale Mabry is.

Telehealth follow-ups are 15 minutes and work anywhere in Florida, as long as you're physically in the state and show a valid Florida driver's license or state ID on camera. If you live in the Hawks Landing apartments on campus but your license is from another state, plan on in-person follow-ups, which from Dale Mabry is an easy trip.

Does Hillsborough College offer counseling and disability services?

Yes. Counselors at the Dale Mabry campus work out of the Student Services Building, and their services are free to Hillsborough College students. The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities has staff on all five campuses, including Dale Mabry, and handles academic accommodations. Contact those offices directly about how they work.

Who can use medication prescribed at Padgett?

Only you. Sharing or selling prescribed ADHD medication is illegal, whether it's a coworker on a long shift or a classmate before an exam. E-FORCSE, Florida's prescription drug monitoring program, is checked before any controlled medication is prescribed, and any prescription is filled at your own pharmacy, separate from the visit fee.
