ADHD Care for UTampa Students

At Padgett Medical Center, a UTampa student with a valid college ID pays $130 for the new patient ADHD visit when booking online with a card on file, half the regular $260. Only the first visit is discounted. Monthly follow-ups cost $136 for every patient, student or not. Your card is not charged at booking, and staff look at your college ID during the visit.

What's the fastest way from UT's campus to Linebaugh Avenue?

The Veterans Expressway. Head west on Kennedy Boulevard from the edge of downtown, past Westshore, where Kennedy becomes Memorial Highway, then follow the Veterans Expressway (SR 589, a toll road) north to exit 7 at Linebaugh Avenue and turn left. It is about 12 miles and roughly 20 minutes without traffic.

Prefer to skip the tolls? Take I-275 to Dale Mabry Highway, drive north on Dale Mabry to Linebaugh Avenue and turn west. That way runs about 13 miles and closer to 25 minutes. Both routes slow down at rush hour, so a midday or Wednesday evening slot (the clinic is open until 7 PM that day) is easier on a class schedule.

How does UT's calendar affect when to book?

Book in the first weeks of a semester, while your schedule still has slack. UT's calendar includes seven-week classes alongside full-semester ones, so a crunch can arrive at the midpoint as well as at finals. An evaluation squeezed in right before one of those deadlines adds stress you don't need.

What if you're from another state or another country?

Then plan your follow-ups around Tampa. Telehealth only works while you are physically in Florida and can show a valid Florida driver's license or state ID on camera, and a passport or a license from another state doesn't meet that requirement.

Many UT students come from outside Florida, including international students, and many of them head home over winter break and summer. If you don't hold a Florida ID, your monthly follow-ups will be in person at the clinic, so line them up for weeks you're in town and book the one before a trip home ahead of time. Where are UT's own health and accessibility offices?

On campus. The Dickey Health and Wellness Center, on North Brevard Avenue behind Austin Hall, offers medical and counseling services to UT students. Student Accessibility Services, part of the Academic Success Center, handles disability accommodations. Both set their own rules, so ask them directly what they need.

What should UT students know about medication safety?

Medication prescribed to you is yours only, and sharing or selling it is illegal. Residence halls mean roommates, visitors and shared spaces, so keep any prescription out of sight and locked away. Medication, if prescribed, is filled at your own pharmacy and isn't included in the visit fee; there are pharmacies within walking distance of campus, which makes monthly pickups simple.

Does Padgett see people from the neighborhoods around UT?

Yes. People from Hyde Park, Downtown Tampa, Tampa Heights and Westshore all make the same trip up the Veterans Expressway. From Westshore it's a few minutes shorter, since you start closer to the expressway.
