ADHD Care for USF Students

For USF students, the new patient ADHD visit at Padgett Medical Center is $130 with a valid college ID when you book online with a card on file, 50% off the regular $260. The discount applies to that first visit only; monthly follow-ups are $136, the same price every patient pays. Nothing is charged when you book, and your USF ID is checked when you arrive.

How do you get from USF's Tampa campus to the clinic?

Drive west across north Tampa. From East Fowler Avenue, take I-275 south for one exit to Busch Boulevard (exit 50), stay on Busch Boulevard heading west until it turns into Gunn Highway, then turn left onto West Linebaugh Avenue. The clinic is at 6904 W. Linebaugh Ave, Tampa, FL 33625, about 10 miles away and roughly 20 minutes without traffic.

Fowler Avenue and Busch Boulevard both get heavy at rush hour, so leave extra time for a late-afternoon appointment. If you don't keep a car on campus, a rideshare is the simplest way to make the trip, since the visit itself runs 30 minutes.

When in the USF semester is a good time for a first visit?

Early in the term is best, before midterms and group projects start competing for your week. A big university runs on a fast calendar: syllabus week turns into exams quickly, and it is easier to take a half day for an evaluation in September or January than in the last weeks before finals.

The first visit is always in person and lasts 30 minutes with Morgan Colee, PA. No diagnosis or prescription is promised ahead of time. If your classes fill the middle of the day, remember that the clinic is open until 7 PM on Wednesdays, which lets you finish afternoon labs and still make it across town.

Can out-of-state USF students keep follow-ups going over winter break and summer?

Only while they are in Florida. Telehealth follow-ups require you to be physically in the state during the visit and to show a valid Florida driver's license or state ID on camera, so a video visit from your parents' house in another state isn't possible.

USF enrolls students from across the country and around the world, and plenty of them fly home for the holidays or head out for the summer. Before you book travel, put your next monthly follow-up on the calendar: schedule it in the days before you leave, in person or by telehealth, and plan the one after for when you're back. Raise a long summer away with your provider well ahead of time. If you don't have a Florida license or state ID yet, count on coming to Linebaugh Avenue for follow-ups.

Does USF have its own counseling and accessibility offices?

Yes. The USF Counseling Center on the Tampa campus offers free, confidential counseling to currently registered students, and Student Accessibility Services handles academic accommodations for students with disabilities. Both are run by USF with their own requirements, so contact them directly about what they offer.

Is it ever okay to share ADHD medication with a roommate?

No. Anything prescribed at Padgett is for you alone, and giving or selling it to someone else is against the law. In a residence hall suite or a shared apartment off Fletcher Avenue, keep it somewhere private and locked, and say no plainly when someone asks before an exam.

Before any controlled medication is prescribed, Padgett checks E-FORCSE, Florida's prescription drug monitoring program. If you are prescribed a medication, it is filled at your own pharmacy and is not part of the visit fee, so choose one close to where you live during the semester.

Does Padgett also see students from the neighborhoods around USF?

Yes. Students and adults from Temple Terrace, Tampa Palms, Lutz and Carrollwood come to the same clinic. From Temple Terrace the drive is a little longer than from campus, while Carrollwood residents are only a few minutes away.
